Welcome therapists and group practice owners. I’m Nicole McCance, a psychologist turned business coach for therapists, and as we close out 2025 and prepare for a new year, I want to invite you into a different kind of conversation than goal setting or strategic planning.
As practice owners, so much of our energy goes toward holding others. Our teams, our clients, our families, and our businesses all rely on us to stay steady and available. Over time, that level of responsibility can quietly pull us into burnout, and constant effort without much room to pause.
That’s why I recorded a guided meditation called “2026: The Year You Receive with Ease.” This blog is here to help you understand why that practice matters, what it supports, and how it can help you reduce burnout and scale your practice in 2026.
P.S. You can listen to the full meditation by clicking here or by watching the video below.
Why Group Practice Owners Need Space to Pause Before a New Year
Many practice owners reach the end of the year feeling burnt out in ways they didn’t expect. Even when growth has happened, there can be a lingering sense of pressure or emotional weight.
Moments like this often show up when you’re stretching beyond what you’ve done before. Now hear me out on this – Feeling uncertain, uncomfortable, or unsure doesn’t mean you did something wrong. It usually means you were learning in real time and building capacity you didn’t have yet.
Reflection allows your nervous system to catch up to your growth. Without it, even positive momentum can start to feel overwhelming. With it, you’re able to recognize what truly worked, what no longer fits, and where your energy is best spent moving forward.
Before setting goals for 2026, it’s important to create a moment of stillness. That pause helps you move into the next year with intention instead of pressure, so you can reduce burnout and grow your practice in a sustainable way.
The Role of Meditation in Reducing Burnout and Business Growth
For practice owners, meditation can be an incredible way to reconnect with clarity, presence, and trust.
In the meditation I recorded, the focus is on releasing the constant internal push to strive and holding space for a different leadership posture. One rooted in alignment instead of force. When leaders slow down internally, decision making becomes clearer and less reactive. Because you can’t lead from a place of burnout and exhaustion.
This kind of practice helps regulate the nervous system, which is essential when you’re responsible for a growing team and complex systems. When your nervous system feels supported, you’re better able to lead with steadiness, communicate clearly, and respond rather than react.
Over time, this creates a ripple effect throughout your practice. Teams feel more grounded, systems feel easier to maintain, and growth becomes more sustainable because it isn’t built on constant urgency.
What the “2026: The Year You Receive with Ease” Meditation Supports
The intention of this meditation is to help you reduce burnout, and reconnect with the version of yourself who leads from trust rather than tension.
Throughout the practice, you’re guided to soften your body, slow your breath, and reconnect with a sense of internal safety. From that place, it becomes easier to release the pressure to control every outcome and instead align with what’s already working.
The imagery and affirmations in the meditation are designed to support themes many practice owners resonate with:
- Trusting your systems and team
- Allowing growth without overworking
- Letting go of unnecessary striving
- Creating space for clarity and insight
- Strengthening your sense of internal support
This is all about allowing your effort to be guided by alignment rather than urgency.
How to Use This Meditation as You Enter 2026
You can listen to this meditation once as a year-end reflection, or return to it throughout the year whenever things feel heavy or unclear. Many practice owners find it helpful to use meditation:
- Before setting annual goals or making big decisions
- During periods of leadership fatigue or overwhelm
- When systems are in place but trust feels shaky
- As a way to reconnect with their original vision and purpose
- To help reduce burnout and mental exhaustion
You don’t need to “do” anything with the meditation. Let it meet you where you are. The value comes from giving yourself permission to receive support, clarity, and rest without earning it through effort.
You’re allowed to build your next year from clarity instead of pressure. That starts by reflecting on what actually worked, what drained you, and what you’re ready to change.
A Grounded Transition Into the New Year
As you reflect on 2025, notice what your body and mind are asking for as you step into 2026. Growth doesn’t always require more action (that’s a recipe for more burnout). Sometimes it asks for deeper listening and trust.
This meditation is my way of offering that space to you.

Here’s to entering 2026 feeling supported, steady, and open to receiving what’s already on its way.

Nicole
