Welcome therapists and group practice owners! I’m Nicole McCance, a psychologist turned business coach for therapists. I scaled my group practice to 55 therapists and multiple seven-figures in just three years (while raising twin toddlers at home), and one of the biggest lessons I learned is that making more money as a therapist isn’t just about strategy, it’s about energy.
You can have the best marketing plan, systems, and strategy in place, but if the energy behind them is off, clients won’t connect. When your mindset, heart, and focus align, you naturally attract more abundance, opportunities, and yes, more dream clients!
Let’s talk about how to actually do that.
P.S. Not a huge fan of reading blogs? (I’m more of a podcast girl myself) You can listen to my podcast episode all about this topic by clicking here or by watching my YouTube video below!
How Your Energy Affects the Clients and Money You Attract
Everything you do in business broadcasts energy. That includes your website, your Instagram posts, even your job descriptions. Clients feel it!
If you’re stressed, uncertain, or doubting your worth, that energy seeps through everything you create. On the other hand, when you’re grounded, confident, and clear, people want to be in your world. They feel safe, inspired, and curious about working with you.
Think of yourself as a walking Wi-Fi signal. Whatever you’re broadcasting (scarcity or abundance, fear or confidence) is exactly what you’ll attract back. I’m not trying to sound woo-woo here, this is the real deal!
So, before diving into strategy, take a moment to check in with your energy.
Ask yourself these questions:
- What am I broadcasting today?
- Am I focused on what’s not working… or what’s possible?
- How can I shift into gratitude before I take action?
Because when you lead from gratitude and possibility, your business becomes magnetic!
How to Become a Magnet for Millions as a Therapist
Here are some strategies to start implementing to become a magnet for millions!
Set a Clear Daily Intention
Your brain doesn’t know the difference between imagination and reality. So, each morning, I want you to take five minutes (even before the chaos of your day begins) to visualize exactly where you’re headed.
Try this simple practice:
- Get quiet. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
- Set your intention. Where do you want your practice to be by the end of next year? Is it 10 therapists, a full waitlist, or finally stepping out of client work?
- See it clearly. Picture it like a movie. The team meetings, your lighter calendar, your family weekends, your first-class vacation.
- Feel it. Gratitude, joy, excitement – these emotions are the fuel that help you attract what you’re envisioning.
Your brain is the steering wheel, but your heart is the engine. You need both to move forward.
Regulate Your Nervous System
Here’s something most therapists forget when they move into CEO mode: your nervous system sets the tone for your business.
If you’re constantly in fight-or-flight…putting out fires, hustling from one crisis to the next…you won’t feel creative or inspired. Clients will unfortunately pick up on that energy, too.
Grounding yourself (even for a few minutes in the morning) gives you the resilience to handle the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. It helps you make decisions from calm confidence instead of reactive fear.
Because abundance flows from clarity, not chaos.
Focus is Your Superpower
As your business grows, the outside opinions are totally going to come. Not everyone will understand your vision or your success, and I want you to remember that’s okay!
When people criticize or question you, remember this: you’re running a marathon. And the moment you look behind you to see who’s talking, you slow down.
Keep your eyes on your finish line, friends.
Instead of looking behind you, focus on serving your clients, supporting your team, and taking consistent daily action. Yes, even when you’re tired, and when results aren’t instant. That combination of focus, discipline, and resilience is where long-term growth (and real wealth) is built.
Trust That It’s All Happening for You
The thing about growth is that it’s almost never linear. There are going to be seasons that feel slow or frustrating (trust me!). You’ll have unexpected challenges like team issues, personal curveballs, or months that don’t go as planned.
But when that happens I want you to remind yourself: “What if this is happening FOR me, not TO me?”
Because every detour teaches you something vital about leadership, systems, or your own strength. When you can trust the process and stay open-hearted, you move through challenges faster and with more grace.
Believe It’s Possible for You
This is very likely the most important piece of the puzzle.
If you don’t believe more money, freedom, and success are possible for you, literally none of the strategy matters.
I didn’t always believe it, either. I grew up in a trailer park with a single mom. At 15, my biggest dream was owning my own trailer one day. Fast forward to my twenties and I started filling my mind with anything that expanded what I thought was possible, like Tony Robbins CDs (yes, actual CDs!), books on success, and mentors who inspired me.
And one day, something totally just clicked. I thought, “Wait… if I work really hard, I can actually have this.” And I was right!
That’s what I want for you, too. Because when you start believing that abundance is possible and that it’s already on its way, you’ll start acting like it. And that’s when you attract all the abundance you’ve been dreaming of.
Ready to Become a Magnet for Abundance?
Building a profitable, purpose-driven practice starts with your energy, focus, and belief. If you’re ready to step into that next level, keep filling your mind and heart with inspiration that helps you think bigger!
Because if it’s possible for me, it’s possible for you. And my friend, it’s already happening.
